An inspirational space to learn and connect with the members of our innovation ecosystem to conserve the Amazon rainforest.

Lima, Peru — On December 6th and 7th, 2022, business leaders, policymakers, Indigenous community members, and entrepreneurs joined the Innovation XChange (IXC) event. The 600 virtual and in-person attendees debated and articulated a vision to champion innovation for conservation in the Amazon. 


The IXC also marked the closing celebration of the Artisanal Mining Grand Challenge: The Amazon. The Challenge’s twelve finalist teams

presented and shared the results from their field-testing work, and the four highest performing teams were awarded $300K USD in additional prizes.

The winners of the Artisanal Mining Grand Challenge: The Amazon were announced at a high-level Prize Ceremony on December 7, 2022 in Lima.

Two $100,000 prizes and two $50,000 prizes were awarded to the highest-performing Innovator Teams.

The IXC demonstrated how collaboration and open innovation can inspire action to address the greatest threats to the Amazon rainforest and co-create solutions to protect it.
